Leaf
Every leaf on every tree,
Says I’m alive and green and free,
And when it’s done and had its day,
It gives a red and gold display,
And while we sleep the acorn grows,
And all of this the green leaf knows.
The List
When you get to my age,
The list grows of the things you won’t do any-more,
Such as sleep in a tent,
DIY that dent,
Swim in the sea, Climb a big tree,
Play five aside, Risk a fairground ride,
Go on a demo, Tear up a memo,
Walk twenty miles, Greet strangers with smiles,
Give help to the poor, Kiss that girl from Radnor.
My advice is rule nothing out,
Lest ye also be ruled out.
